WeChat: WhatApp Rival Now Available in Nokia Asha Full Touch Handsets

In a latest development, Developer Tencent has released it's mobile communication and social networking app WeChat for Nokia Asha devices. The cross-platform messaging app which is similar to and competing with WhatsApp is available for free download at Nokia OVI Store.

The app offers individual and group messaging with text, voice notes, and images. Friends can be added via mobile contacts or WeChat ID.The app comes with support for languages including English, Indonesian, Spanish, Traditional Chinese and Simplified Chinese. When WeChat is running in the background, you'll get notification sounds and vibrations, when you get messages, similar to SMS, which is convenient.

Currently the app is compatible with Nokia Asha 303, 305, 306, 307, 308, 309, 310, 311 devices.
