One of the most used instant messaging application WhatsApp had been struggling a lot to get the app fixed for Windows Phone devices. More than a week ago the app was pulled out from the Windows Phone store as it started showing off faulty functionalities, such as delays in sending messages, messages lost on the way and more.

But the company has now fixed the problem with the app for the Windows Phone platform. The WhatsApp app is not only back in store, but also gets some new features. In a tweet, Joe Belfiore announced that WhatsApp is back and working.

WhatsApp is looking forward to double its user base to a billion in one year, now with the Windows Phone user base, it could soon hit the milestone. The WhatsApp for Windows Phone is not only back but also comes with added features.

These include chat backgrounds, better privacy settings and the ability to customize notification tones. Moreover, the new update allows users to set custom chat backgrounds, new privacy feature lets you hide Last seen, Profile Photo and Status. But these features are already available for Android and iPhone apps.

Other features that have been added to the app are privacy settings (settings > account > privacy), Media auto-download settings, Custom notification tones, Various enhancements and bug fixes.
