Windows Blue To Be Called as Windows 8.1: To Land In August 2013
Microsoft's upcoming update to Windows 8 which is being called as Windows Blue is a new favorite topic in the tech world. There have been en-numerable amount of rumors and leaks about the OS update. After being silent about it, for a long time Microsoft finally confirmed, they were working on new developments for the Windows 8 platform. However, apart from leaks, not much have been reveled about OS update from the company.
According ZDNet, sources are reveling that the update will infact be released as Windows 8.1 rather then Windows Blue. Similarly, Windows 8.1 RT update is also scheduled to release for Windows 8.1 RT. They say history repeats itself! Previously, Microsoft fallowed the same approach for the Windows Phone 7 update, as it was code named as mango, before it was launched as Windows Phone 7.5
Microsoft is apparently planning to release the update in August. The company apparently wants to retain the the Windows 8 title, to avoid confusion between consumer. There is no word about whether the new update will cost the users, hopefully it won't.
Coming to Windows Phone 8, will the new update be implemented to the mobile platform as well? Previous rumors do stand in favor of it, but then again, there are no conclusive reports about this.
Window blue or 8.1 is said to bring significant improvements to operating system including improved performance and better user experience. It will be interesting to see, what exactly will it bring.
