WWDC 2025: iOS 26 to Feature ‘Liquid Glass’ UI, Says Report

Apple is all set for WWDC 2025, which kicks off today at 10:30 PM IST. One of the biggest rumours surrounding the event is that Apple might shift from using version numbers to naming its operating systems by year. And the next-gen iOS 19 could be rebranded as iOS 26.

Now, just ahead of the official keynote, a new report hints that iOS 26 might introduce a new interface dubbed "Liquid Glass." Let's take a closer look at what this new leak suggests.

iOS 26 to Feature "Liquid Glass" UI

As we already know, Apple's next-gen operating system is expected to borrow visual elements from VisionOS. Now, a new report by Mark Gurman reveals that the interface for iOS 26 will be called "Liquid Glass", featuring a sleek, see-through design that mimics the appearance of glass.

The revamped UI is rumoured to bring enhanced transparency and glossy effects across Apple's interface elements, including toolbars and in-app interfaces.

Apple is also reportedly planning a major iPhone redesign in 2027 to celebrate the product's 20th anniversary. Internally dubbed "Glasswing," the 2027 iPhones are expected to embrace the glass concept further with curved glass wrapping around all sides. They are also said to feature ultra-slim bezels and a seamless display with no visible cutouts.
