How To Access The New "Bing AI" Powered By OpenAI?

Microsoft's OpenAI platform offers ChatGPT, a generative AI which offers actual answers which are customized and summarized for each query. Moreover, the queries can sequentially get more specific, and the answers will be influenced by the previous queries.

Microsoft is confident that such Generative AI will transform the way people will search on the internet. Hence, the company recently unveiled an updated Bing search and Edge browser with AI capabilities. These apps are now available on Apple App Store for iPhones running iOS and Google's Play Store for smartphones running Android.

To access the Generative AI features, iPhone and Android smartphone users must first download the Edge or Bing app from the respective app store. Additionally, users need to sign up for the Bing AI preview. The sign-up process is free, and users need to log into the service when the apps ask for the same.

How To Use The New Bing AI And Edge Browser App?

Microsoft Bing is a search engine, while Microsoft Edge is a web browser. These platforms rival Google Chrome and Google Search respectively. Microsoft published a blog post announcing the new apps and claimed:

"Because we know 64 percent of searches occur on mobile phones, we are releasing all new Bing and Edge mobile apps to serve as your copilot for the web even when you are away from your desktop."

Essentially, users can initiate a "conversation" which is similar to the ChatGPT platform. Users can open the Bing app and tap on the Bing icon at the bottom to start a chat session. Microsoft has assured there are no limits to the number of questions users can ask.

The Generative AI engine will be able to offer answers in the form of bullet points, text, or simplified responses. The AI may also insert an emoji, "to make the response more human-like".

A similar feature exists in the newly updated Microsoft Edge web browser. Microsoft has claimed users who have access to the preview of Bing AI will be able to utilize the new Bing experience from the homepage of the Microsoft Edge mobile app. However, the feature appears to be rolling out gradually.
