Five Snapchat Features You Should Know
Snapchat has witnessed a huge popularity among the youth lately. For some people, sending snaps to their friends has evolved into a daily routine. Beyond its sending snaps and chatting, the platform has a feature called Spotlight.
This innovative addition not only lets users showcase their creativity but also allows them to earn money. Snapchat introduced Spotlight back in 2020, which is available within the main app and allows users to create short videos. One can record videos up to 60 seconds long using filters, captions, GIFs, and music.

In this article, we will discuss a few Snapchat features that you should know if you're an active Snapchat user. Let's dive into the details.
Restore Snapchat Streak
A Snapstreak is the number of days you and a friend have been exchanging Snaps. You can send any photos or videos as a Snap which disappears after people are viewed. If you miss a single day to send a Snap to your friends, your regular Snap Streak will disappear.
However, you can see a symbol of an hourglass as a warning on the chat, reminding you to send a Snap. Snapstreaks can only be maintained if both people are sending Snaps to each other regularly. Snapchat lets users have five free restore sessions in a month.
For that, you just need to click on the 'Restore' option which appears on the chat. Additionally, you can contact Snapchat support to get your Streaks back. If you are a Snapchat Plus member you can restore easily. For the unaware, Snapchat Plus is a paid subscription by Snapchat, which provides unique features to users.
Hide Your Location
Your friend or Snapchat contact can easily access your location. However, you can hide your location from your friends by turning on 'Ghost Mode'. For that, open your Snapchat app and click on the map icon placed at the left. Now, go to the settings and turn on the Ghost Mode.
Set Your Snap Limit
Snapchat allows users to set a limit before sending a Snap. Click a photo or video and then you can find a 'Timer Set' option. One can increase the time to 10 seconds.
Share Story With Select People
Like Instagram, you can also select people to whom you want to show your story. Select a photo and click on the share options. Then you can select your friends as favorites.
Send Photos or Videos from the Gallery
To send a snap, we have to click a photo or video from the Snapchat camera. However, you can send any photo or video from your gallery as well. Click on the 'Plus' icon on the screen, go to 'Director Mode', and then 'Import media' option. Now select any image or video to send it as a Snap.
