What is Encryption?

Encryption is basically a process, where the data is translated into an unrecognizable code to achieve data security.

Today, we have jotted down the list of encrypted app, that you can use on your iPhone.

Wickr Me

Available on both Android and iOS, it has end-to-end encryption and also can strip out metadata such as the timestamp from conversations. You can program the messages to self-destruct after a certain period of time has expired.

Silent

This is the replacement for Android's stock messaging app, where it stores all messages you receive in an encrypted database. If both the sender and receiver use this app, then it will recognize this and use end-to-end encryption to send text and media.

Signal

This messaging app is encrypted end-to-end, doesn't record metadata of messages and doesn't store a copy of your messages as well. Source code for this app is available online so that experts can constantly keep an eye on its vulnerabilities.

Gliph

This app features encryption using SSL and also supports securely deleting messages. It also has secure group messaging, where it lets the users talk safely with multiple people. Moreover, this app supports Bitcoin payments which allows you to safely send and receive cash from contacts.

Telegram

Here, in this app, the conversations are encrypted and can be accessed on the same device. It also has a secret chat feature, which can be self-destructed in a specific time. However, the local message database is not encrypted by default so you have to set a password. The encryption algorithm here is MTProto and it was created by the Telegram developers.
