New WhatsApp features introduced and spotted in 2017
Whatsapp is finding new ways to counter its rivals by adding some features, which is more or less similar to that of Snapchat.
Moreover, Whatsapp is introducing new feature every week as you can see when you update your app on your mobile. Check out the uodates, whatsapp rolled out in 2017.
Status feature
Whatsapp introduced a new status feature similar to Snapchat in February. This feature allows the users to post their status to a short video or multiple photos that will automatically disappear in 24 hours. It is rolled out to replace the old status.
Media sharing limit increased
The media limit was first at 10, and it was increased to 30 at a stretch. Being a media sharing platform, this was a welcome change done by the company.

Two-step verification
This was rolled out in February as a part of optional security feature. With this feature, users will be able to verify their number when they install the app on a new device for security purpose. Moreover, users will have to provide a six-digit passcode when registering for their phone number.
Bringing back Old status
Soon after the roll out of the new Status feature, the company has ended the support for old Text Status feature. As this created an uproar among users, the feature was then brought back.
Photo Filter and bundling features
Whatsapp introduced Photo bundling feature where the feature allows users to send photos and videos to contacts as an album. Once the album is opened, all the images are shown on a single page.
Also, the company added the ability to add color filters to the media that you send in chats for iPhone users. When you swipe up, you will pull out five photo filters that you can choose from. -- Pop, B&W, Cool, Film, and Chrome.
Pinned Chat option
With the new Pinned Chats feature, it allows the user to pin up to three contacts on top of the conversations.
All file type transfer
Whatsapp is rolling out support for all types of file transfers on Android, iPhone, and Windows Phone platforms, with a limited number of users. This new feature allows users share video in a variety of formats, MP3 songs, or even APK files. Talking about the file sharing limit it is 128MB on iOS, 64MB on the Web, and 100MB on Android.
