WhatsApp is expected to stop working on millions of smartphones by the end of December 2016. Find out if WhatsApp will be suspending its services for your smartphone aswell.
According to several media reports, WhatsApp, in a blog post has declared to discontinue its services for several phones, stating that the messaging app will be phasing out compatibility with the old generation phones.
WhatsApp in the blog post also added that the reason behind suspending it's services is that the old smartphones are not capable enough to support the newly introduced features by the app.
The old-gen phones don't include the kind of capabilities that WhatsApp requires in order to expand their app's features in the upcoming days. Let's check out all the details on which phones will no longer support WhatsApp and also the solution to the issue.
No More WhatsApp For These iPhone Users
The most affected by this move are the iOS users. WhatsApp is said to discontinue its services, starting 2017 for the iPhone 3GS devices and other devices running on iOS 6.
Along with these, WhatsApp will also stop its services for all first, second, third or fourth generation iPad that requires an update.
However, to save yourself from a discontinued WhatsApp service, upgrading to iOS version 9.3 can be your rescue.
Upgrade Your Android Version
Updating the device version might help the Android users as well. Smartphones running on Android 2.1 and 2.2 operating system will not be supporting WhatsApp starting the next year.
Well, upgrading your phone to the latest version is the only rescue to continue enjoying the new WhatsApp services.
What About the Windows Uses?
For all Windows 7 users, WhatsApp will no longer be able to support WhatsApp services. Similar to that of Android and iOS devices, upgrading the Windows device to the latest version might be at your rescue.

BlackBerry and Nokia Devices
Well, WhatsApp has revealed that BlackBerry OS, BlackBerry 10, Nokia S40 and Nokia Symbian S60 users will be able to use WhatsApp on their devices until June 30, 2017. However, the company has not unveiled their future plans as of yet.
