The Android 6.0 Marshmallow Update List: Samsung, Xiaomi and More
Android 6.0 Marshmallow was first unveiled in May 2015 at Google I/O under the codename "Android 'M', it was officially released in October 2015. This update focuses on overall user experience of the device introducing new battery management system, Google Now On Tap, native support for fingerprint scanner and USB Type-C connectors.
Let's have a look at the list of devices, that will be getting the Android 6.0 Marshmallow soon.
Asus
Last year, Asus has confirmed that few of its devices will be receiving the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update. After the Asus's official ZenTalk forum, the company has added few more devices in their kitty. Some of them includes:
PadFone S (PF500KL), ZenFone 2 (ZE550ML, ZE551ML), ZenFone 2 Deluxe (ZE551ML), ZenFone 2 Deluxe Special Edition (ZE551ML), ZenFone 2 Laser (ZE500KG, ZE500KL, ZE550KL, ZE551KL, ZE600KL, ZE601KL), ZenFone Selfie (ZD551KL), ZenFone Max (ZC550KL), ZenFone Zoom (ZX551ML).
Xiaomi
Chinese handset maker, Xiaomi in the final stage of testing the Android 6.0 Marshmallow and it will tart rolling out soon to a wide range of Xiaomi devices - Mi 4i, Mi 4c, Note 2, Redmi 2, Mi Note Pro. This update comes with the build number of MMB29M and comes in a size of around 100MB.
As of now, the device in China has received Android Marshmallow updates, where other devices will be released in a phased manner and completed in the next few weeks.

Samsung
The South Korean tech giant has started updating its Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge with Android 6.0 Marshmallow in order to enhance the performance of the device. The company's flagship smartphones will get Android 6.0 update within March while the last year's high-end phone will get the update around April and May.
- March 2016 - Samsung Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy S6 Edge+, Galaxy S6,
- April 2016 - Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy Note Edge
- May 2016 - Galaxy S5, Galaxy Tab S2 8-inch display, Galaxy Tab S2 9.7"
- June 2016 - Samsung Galaxy Alpha
Sony
Recently, Sony UK has confirmed that Android 6.0 Marshmallow update will be started rolling from March 7. The first set of devices are Xperia Z3+, Sony Xperia Z5 line up and Xperia Z4 tablet. For the Xperia devices, the build number is reported as 32.1.A.0.434.
The Android 6.0 Marshmallow update is expected to roll out to the following Sony devices at some point this year: Xperia Z3, Xperia Z3+, Xperia M5, Xperia Z4 Tablet, Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact, Xperia Z3 Compact, Xperia Z2, Xperia Z2 Tablet, Xperia M4 Aqua, Xperia C4, Xperia C5 Ultra, Xperia Z5, Xperia Z5 Compact and Xperia Z5 Premium.
