Zoom AI Updates: Unified Context Layer, My Notes Workflows and Deepfake Detection Announced
Zoom is moving deeper into AI-led workplace software with a new Unified Context Layer and a wider set of agentic tools across Zoom Workplace, Phone, CX, Spaces, Events and its developer platform. Announced at Zoomtopia 2026, the updates show how the company wants to turn meetings, calls, chats and customer interactions into structured work that AI agents can search, summarise and act on.
The biggest shift is not a single meeting feature. It is Zoom’s attempt to connect business context across conversations, documents, customer records and third-party apps. The company says users of its AI tools report completing tasks twice as fast, while 72% cite high or extremely high business impact. Zoom also expects to cross $5 billion in annual revenue in 2026.

Zoom Unified Context Layer Aims to Connect Conversations with Work
The new Unified Context Layer is designed to give Zoom’s AI tools a broader understanding of workplace activity. It connects conversation history with company documents, data and real-time activity across Zoom and supported third-party applications. The goal is to help users move from discussion to execution without manually searching across apps or recreating context after every meeting.
Zoom says the layer will work with configurable controls, allowing organisations to decide how information is accessed and used. That part matters for enterprise customers, especially in sectors where meeting data, customer records and internal documents are governed by strict compliance rules. AI features are becoming more useful, but they also require clearer controls over what systems can read, process and generate.
The platform supports integrations through Model Context Protocol servers and APIs. Zoom’s Search and Ask APIs will allow external AI assistants to query information across Zoom and connected services. Agentic search will pull information from Zoom Meetings, Phone and Chat, along with more than 40 third-party applications including ServiceNow, Workday, Google Drive and OneDrive.
This puts Zoom in a wider enterprise AI race where collaboration platforms are becoming context engines. Microsoft, Google, Salesforce and other software companies are also building assistants that sit across productivity data. Zoom’s approach is to use its strength in conversations and meetings, then connect that activity to workflows, customer records and business systems.
My Notes gets Meeting Capture, Workflows and In-person Support
Zoom is expanding My Notes from a simple note-taking assistant into a broader work automation tool. The updated version can capture meetings, link summaries to workflow actions and support in-person conversations through partner devices. One feature, called Follow the meeting, creates personalised transcripts and summaries for users who miss all or part of a meeting.
My Notes can also attend meetings automatically. Enriched notes will connect shared screens, slides, charts and in-meeting chat to the relevant moments in searchable transcripts. This could be useful for teams that need to revisit technical discussions, sales calls, design reviews or training sessions without scrolling through long recordings or manually checking presentation files.
My Notes Workflows will send summaries to Zoom Chat and Salesforce. Users can choose prebuilt workflows for sales, marketing and IT, or create custom workflows using natural-language descriptions. Zoom for Business Owners will connect My Notes with Bonsai to help draft proposals, manage client work and streamline billing.
Zoom is also adding in-person capture through the DTEN Action Card, Bota’s Leaf magnetic card and the Bean wearable. These tools are meant to record discussions outside standard video calls. ZoomMate Agent Teams will allow specialised AI agents to work together on tasks, while Zoom is developing workflows that can be launched from Claude and Codex to automate meeting, chat and phone actions.
AI Features Come to Meetings, Rooms and Zoom Phone
Zoom’s meeting updates include several AI-led features aimed at communication quality and engagement. Voice Translator will translate spoken audio for participants using a synthesised version of the speaker’s voice. The feature uses voice cloning to retain vocal identity, which could make multilingual meetings feel more natural, though it also raises the need for clear consent and governance.
Touch up my voice will use on-device AI to smooth accents in real time without changing the speaker’s words or language. Pose Correction will also use on-device AI to make subtle adjustments when a user looks away from the camera. Live Meeting Assist will offer proactive suggestions on engagement, pacing and clarity, while Meeting Icebreakers can generate activities such as word clouds and quizzes.
Zoom is also adding high-frame-rate screen sharing at 60fps, with Enhanced Media add-on support and Ultra HD 2160p resolution. This could benefit users who share product demos, design tools, video timelines, dashboards or engineering simulations, where smoother motion and higher clarity can make a difference.
Zoom Spaces is receiving updates for offices and shared environments. Zoom Signage will add AI-assisted content generation and scheduling, with integrations for Power BI, Tableau and Workvivo TV. Bring Your Own Zoom will let users sign in to a shared Zoom Room by scanning a QR code or using the Zoom Workplace app. Their session data will be cleared after sign-out.
Zoom Rooms will support cross-platform connectivity with Microsoft Teams, including HDMI content sharing, dual displays, 1080p video, participant roster and read-only chat. Native Zoom Rooms are also available on compatible Cisco devices. Zoom is working with HP and Google on Google Beam for Zoom, which is available in select countries.
Zoom Chat is being redesigned with a Threads inbox that brings replies together and an Activity page for mentions, reactions and thread activity. Zoom Phone is adding SMS and call-screening capabilities to its Virtual Agent Receptionist. SMS support can answer common questions, handle quotes and send follow-ups, while call screening can greet callers, collect intent and route calls.
Zoom CX, Events and Governance Tools get Major AI Additions
Zoom CX is gaining tools aimed at customer service teams. Customer Profiles will provide real-time context across customer channels and interactions. CX Insights Transcript Intelligence will classify voice, chat and email transcripts automatically. Users will be able to query transcripts in natural language and combine them with operational data such as handling time, queue and outcome.
Zoom Virtual Agent Kiosk will offer branded AI self-service experiences for retail environments. Zoom says its Zoom Virtual Agent customer count has increased by 256%, indicating growing interest in automated customer support. For Events, Content Studio will convert one recording into multiple content assets across formats and languages. Agentic Event Setup will help configure event details, sessions and registration.
Zoom is pairing these AI expansions with more governance controls. Centralized AI Management will give administrators visibility into AI agents, account policies, activity audits and user-created agents. Sensitivity Labels will integrate with Microsoft Purview to synchronise labels with Zoom Meetings and Whiteboard. Support for additional Zoom Workplace products is planned.
AI Guardrails will let organisations constrain generated information, exclude channels from processing or require human review. Deepfake Risk Detection will analyse audio and video in real time and provide a confidence indicator. Zoom says this can help identify potential deepfakes in scenarios such as hiring, customer experience and meetings. Zoom Compliance Manager will archive AI-generated summaries, notes and documents from My Notes and Zoom Canvas.
