AI-fied Chrome Comes to Apple iPhones

Google Chrome remains the top browser globally, and its iOS version has received enhancements. Previously, users could search images using Google Lens by taking a photo or uploading one. Now, they can also add text to their visual queries. This allows for more refined searches by combining images and words, such as adding colours or attributes to the search.

Additionally, users might receive an AI Overview based on their search query. This overview compiles relevant information from across the web, providing a comprehensive view of the topic being searched.

Users can now save web content directly to Drive and Photos from Chrome on iOS, freeing up storage space on their iPhones. To save a file to Drive, tap the Google Drive option when saving. Files will be stored in a new "Saved from Chrome" folder in Drive. For saving images to Photos, long-press the image and select "Save in Google Photos" from the context menu.

In the US, shoppers will benefit from great deals while browsing with Chrome. When Shopping Insights are available for a product, users will see a "Good Deal Now" notification in the address bar. Tapping it reveals details like price history and tracking options. To use this feature, users must be signed into Chrome with the "Make Searches and Browsing Better" setting enabled.

Google plans to expand this shopping feature to more regions soon. This enhancement aims to provide users with valuable information while shopping online, making it easier to find the best prices and deals.

The tech giant is also enhancing the user experience for Chrome by integrating a feature that will allow users to access maps within the browser itself. When users come across an address on any website, they can simply click on it to open a small map view directly in Chrome. This feature is currently being tested by Google and will be rolled out globally over the coming months.
