AIMatter has built a neural network based artificial intelligence program and SDK that detects and processes images instantly on mobile devices. AIMatter has also come up with an app called Fabby that allows users to edit photos and videos using the Computer Vision.
There were speculations regarding the acquisition of the AIMatter by Google since May 2017, however, the deal closed yesterday. Both Google and Fabby have confirmed the news. The terms and conditions of the deal have not yet been revealed, however, experts believe that Google will let Fabby operate independently as an app and most of the AIMatter's team will move to Google.
Fabby had managed to raise $2 million in funding from funders including Haxus that backs up startups working in the field of AI. Haxus has offered support several ventures which include Prisma app which got popular for converting pictures into paintings.
Experts believe that Google hopes to come up with a filter platform similar to Snapchat.
Snapchat uses camera filters to warp images in real time and the feature is one of the most popular entities of the app.
