Alexa Blueprint allows you to create your own Alexa Skills

Amazon has recently made an announcement a new feature named 'Alexa Blueprint' that will allow Alexa users to create their own Alexa skills. A user can create their own set of skills without the need for any coding. The interesting feature here is that a user can also create their own voice apps.

Alexa owners, who want to build custom skills, can visit the Alexa Blueprint website and select their desired template. It is being reported that Amazon has now released over 20 templates across various categories including Fun & Games, At home, Storyteller, and Learning and Knowledge. By using the templates, Alexa owners will also be able to fill in the information easily and make their own custom skills. Also, creating a new skill will not be a fuss as it doesn't have any complicated steps to follow and the user doesn't need any technical knowledge.

Steve Rabuchin, VP Amazon Alexa, quoted:
"Alexa Skill Blueprints is an entirely new way for you to teach Alexa personalized skills just for you and your family...You don't need experience building skills or coding to get started - my family created our own jokes skill in a matter of minutes, and it's been a blast to interact with Alexa in a totally new and personal way."

To make the process easy for the beginners, the templates come pre-filled and they function as it is so that the user can try them out before customizing them. After creating and publishing a custom skill, the new updated skills will be available for Alexa-enabled devices which are associated with the user's Amazon account. However, it is worth noting the fact that the skills will not be available for the other users on the Alexa Skills Store

Further, the users will be able to have a look at the skills created by them on the 'Skills You've Made' page on the Blueprint website, where the users can easily enable/disable or delete the skills. The Alexa Blueprint is available for sale in the US only, however, there is no information as to know that whether the official global-rollout will happen any time soon or not.
