Amazon Prime Video Might Introduce "Smart Downloads" And "Follow Top Actors" Features

Amazon Prime Video is one of the dominant web streaming platforms out there right now. Amazon is likely to introduce a couple of new features like "Smart Downloads" and "Follow Top Actors" to its streaming platform, which will eventually turn the app multi-featured. With these features, Prime Video will be directly competing against Netflix.

According to a report, the app will be having a "Smart Downloads" feature, using which the consumers can download the next episode of the series. The feature will be operable by default on Wi-Fi connections. This feature will also help the Prime Video in managing internal storage by replacing old episodes with the new ones.

The same report further says that Amazon Prime will get a "Follow Top Actors" feature. The feature will let the users follow top actors on the streaming platform. By doing so, the subscribers will be updated with their favorite actor's available movies and web-series. The feature will also guide you depending on whom you follow, considering your viewing history.

As of now, there's no news about when these new features will be shipped to Amazon Prime Video. Other than that, you can watch some of the newly released shows like Jack Ryan, The Family Man, and Mirzapur on the platform.

On the competitive front, Amazon Prime needs to work on the inclusion of more new features to stand at par with Netflix. The 'Skip Intro' text which the users come across while playing content on Netflix is certainly missing on some of the movies played on the Prime video. Another feature of the Netflix is "Smart Download", which is missing from other streaming platforms. The feature by default downloads up the next episode if you are excessively watching any series.

Besides, other platforms don't release critically acclaimed movies and web-series in abundance like Netflix. It must be learned that Netflix is all set to release Martin Scorsese's 'The Irishman', on November 27 which is studded with legendary actors like Robert De Niro, Al Pacino, and Joe Pesci.
