Apple Fitness+ is set to arrive in India on December 15, giving Apple device owners access to guided workouts, meditation sessions and audio experiences through a subscription service that links closely with iPhone, Apple Watch, iPad and Apple TV as part of a broader global rollout.

For Indian users, Apple Fitness+ will be available through monthly and yearly plans and can be shared within a household. Apple is also tying the launch to new hardware purchases, offering trial access with selected devices and expanding language support as the service reaches more countries and regions worldwide.

Apple Fitness+ India Launch Date Confirmed

Apple Fitness+ Pricing and Availability in India

Apple Fitness+ subscriptions in India start at INR 149 per month, while an annual plan costs INR 999. Family Sharing support means one subscription can be used by up to five additional family members. Access begins on December 15, when the service goes live in India and several other markets.

New buyers of eligible Apple products receive three months of Apple Fitness+ at no extra cost. The offer covers Apple Watch, iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, AirPods Pro 3 and Powerbeats Pro 2, encouraging new customers to try the service and explore its different workout and meditation formats.

Apple Fitness+ Supported Devices and Requirements

Apple Fitness+ works across the Apple ecosystem, but there are minimum software and hardware requirements. Users can subscribe with an iPhone 8 or later running iOS 16.1 or newer. The service also runs with an Apple Watch Series 3 or later on watchOS 7.2 or higher, paired with an iPhone 6s or newer.

Workouts and sessions are viewable on iPhone, iPad and Apple TV. When paired with an Apple Watch, Apple Fitness+ shows live metrics on the screen, such as heart rate, calories burned and Activity Rings progress. Users with AirPods Pro 3 can follow audio while tracking real-time performance on connected displays.

Apple Fitness+ Core Workout Features and Interface

Apple Fitness+ includes 12 workout types, covering Strength, HIIT, Yoga, Pilates, Dance, Cycling, Kickboxing, Meditation and more. Sessions last between five and 45 minutes, allowing flexible planning for quick routines or longer training blocks. Each workout is filmed in a studio format and guided by trainers.

The interface includes a “Burn Bar” that lets users compare effort with anonymised data from others who completed the same workout. This visual element sits alongside heart rate and calorie information, giving a sense of relative intensity while still keeping individual statistics private and focused on personal progress.

Apple Fitness+ Personalisation, Custom Plans and Music

Apple Fitness+ offers Custom Plans, which create tailored schedules that mix workouts and meditation sessions. Users choose preferred activity types, favourite trainers, desired duration and music style. The system then builds a weekly plan, helping users maintain consistency and balance across different training and recovery days.

The service integrates directly with Apple Music, offering curated playlists during sessions. Alongside genres such as Upbeat Anthems, Hip-Hop/R&B and Latin Grooves, Apple is adding a new K-Pop category across all workout types. This update coincides with the broader Apple Fitness+ expansion that includes India and other regions.

Apple Fitness+ special content formats and meditation

Beyond standard studio workouts, Apple Fitness+ includes several content series. Time to Walk is an audio experience for iPhone and Apple Watch that encourages walking, combining stories, photos and songs from notable figures. The latest episode features Formula 1 driver Yuki Tsunoda, joining earlier guests such as Jane Fonda, Simu Liu and Shawn Mendes.

Artist Spotlight dedicates entire workout playlists to a single musician, with existing sets built around Taylor Swift, Beyoncé, BTS, Coldplay and others. Collections group multiple workouts into structured programmes with specific aims, such as “Run Your First 5K,” “Pilates for More Than Your Core” and “No Shoes Workouts,” giving clearer pathways for different fitness goals.

Apple Fitness+ also offers 12 meditation themes, including Calm, Sleep and Sound, aimed at mindfulness and mental recharge. These guided sessions complement physical workouts, allowing users to combine movement with breathing and focus exercises. Themes help users select sessions that match daily needs, from easing stress to preparing for rest.

Apple Fitness+ global expansion and language support

The India rollout is part of Apple Fitness+’s largest expansion since its 2020 introduction. On December 15, the service will also launch in Chile, Hong Kong, the Netherlands, Norway, the Philippines, Poland, Singapore, Sweden, Taiwan, Vietnam and 17 additional regions, taking coverage to 49 countries and territories.

Language options are widening alongside this global push. German and Spanish dubbing will become available from December 15 across supported markets. Apple has also said that Apple Fitness+ will arrive in Japan with Japanese dubbing early next year, extending both regional reach and accessibility for non-English-speaking users.
