Apple will soon have a News subscription service
Apple will soon have a paid service for News.
Apple recently took over Next Issue Media's digital magazine service Texture, and now a report from Bloomberg suggests that the company might soon start a news subscription service that will combine the Texture magazine with Apple News.

Currently, the Texture app is available for $9.99/month and lets you subscribe to over 200 magazines. The company is expected to merge Texture and the Apple News employees for the premium service. The enhanced Apple News app is expected to launch sometime next year, and the company will be sharing the revenue with the online magazine service provider as a part of the initiative.
Apple is aiming to generate even more revenue with the new and simplified service while making the News more relevant to the users. This will also help the company recover the loss it faced recently. The company has been ordered to pay $502.6 million to VirnetX Holding Corp. after the company lost a patent infringement lawsuit. The verdict was announced by the grand jury in Texas after finding that Apple infringed patents that were related to secure communications.
The legal battle between the companies has been going on for past eight years. VirnetX makes most of its money from licensing patented technology that powers virtual private networks over the web. The company filed three lawsuits against Apple back in 2010 alleging that Apple's FaceTime, iMessage, and VPN on Demand are already patented by VirnetX. In February 2016, Apple was ordered to pay $625.6 million in damages after two of the lawsuits were combined, but the verdict was later voided by a federal judge saying that combining two lawsuits would be unfair to Apple.
In order to gain more users, the company will repair Apple Watches that have trouble powering on or have a swollen battery without charging any fees. However, the new service only serves the Apple Watch 2 owners and also has some conditions to avail the offer.

"Apple has determined that under certain conditions, some Apple Watch Series 2 devices may not power on or they may experience an expanded battery," mentioned Apple in an internal document distributed across Apple stores and authorized service providers.
