Apple wants 13 new emojis for the differently-abled
Apple has proposed addition of the emojis to represent the individual with special needs or disabilities as the current set of emojis doesn't have a wide range of options they can choose from.
Apple the tech giant is working to make communication easier for the differently-abled users. It is being reported that tech giant has offered development of Unicode Consortium to better help the differently abled users. There will be a total of 13 emojis added to the emoji list being used in various messaging platforms.

The new set of emojis will include a service dog, prosthetic limbs along with a wheelchair and other emojis. It is also being further reported that Apple has proposed the addition of the emojis to represent the individual with special needs or disabilities as the current set of emojis doesn't have a wide range of options they can choose from.
It is also being reported that extending the emoji support to the specially abled users will help to fill a significant gap in communicating with them. This will, in addition, provide a more happening experience for all types of uses. Also, Apple has reportedly sought advice from top organizations for the differently able users including the Council of the Blind, Cerebral Palsy Foundation and National Association of the Deaf to work on the proposal.
The emojis must first be adopted by Unicode Consortium before they are released for the masses. Once the non-profit organizations release their guidelines, the app developers like the Apple and Google would be able to design the emojis as per their messaging platforms on Android and iOS.
