Elon Musk's X TV Beta Version Now Live on Android TV
Twitter, rebranded to X under Musk's leadership, is now accessible on smart TVs. This development aligns it with OTT apps like Netflix and Prime Video. Musk confirmed that the beta version of the X TV app is available for Android TV. It is accessible on various devices including LG, Amazon Fire TV, and Google TV. Eventually, it will be rolled out to other platforms as well.
X TV Features
The X TV app offers several unique features. One of them is Replay TV, which allows users to store up to 72 hours of shows in the cloud. Another feature, Startover TV, lets viewers start any live show from the beginning even if they join late. Additionally, there is a Free Cloud DVR feature that enables users to record up to 100 hours of content without extra charges.

Although Musk did not specify an official launch date for the X TV app, reports indicate that Amazon Fire TV received it in late July and LG got it on August 29. This suggests a gradual distribution approach. Meanwhile, let's explore what this app has to offer.
Contrary to expectations of a social media-related service due to its association with X (formerly Twitter), X TV is designed as a comprehensive OTT streaming platform. According to its Google Play Store description, it is referred to as X-Stream Service TV.
It provides a variety of live channels covering news, sports, movies, music, and weather without requiring set-top boxes. Currently, the beta version of X TV can be accessed by those with an X account on Android smart TVs.
The X TV app is poised to compete with major OTT platforms like YouTube and Netflix. Its array of features and technological advancements could make it a strong contender in the market.
