Get Food Recommendations from Friends on Zomato; How It Works

Zomato has launched "Recommendations from Friends," a feature designed to improve how users discover food. Available in the latest app version, it lets customers find restaurants and dishes through suggestions from friends. This nationwide rollout began last week, aiming to make dining choices more personal and enjoyable.

To activate this feature, users need to allow the Zomato app access to their contacts. They can then choose which friends' recommendations they wish to see and decide which restaurants they want to recommend themselves. This ensures a tailored experience for each user.

Managing Shared Recommendations

Users have control over the recommendations they share with others. They can modify or disable these suggestions entirely through the "Manage recommendations" option on their profile page. Importantly, order history and frequency remain private and are not shared with others.

Only friends who have mutual contact access and have chosen the user as a contact will see their recommendations. Restaurants rated 4 or 5 stars by users will appear as their recommendations, ensuring quality suggestions.

Customising Received Recommendations

Once users share their contacts, they can select which friends' recommendations they want to receive. This selection can be changed anytime via the "Manage recommendations" option in the app's profile section. Users also have the option to opt out of this feature if they prefer not to see friends' suggestions.
