Glance AI Launches Visual Shopping App That Curates Looks Based on You

Glance, a consumer tech company best known for its presence on smartphone lock screens, has launched a new standalone app that tries to redefine online shopping. The app, called Glance AI, isn’t just another marketplace. It uses generative AI to style you based on a selfie and then offers curated, shoppable looks drawn from a catalog of over 400 global brands.

The idea behind Glance AI is simple but ambitious: instead of making consumers search for products, it brings them personalized styles based on who they are—what they look like, their preferences, and even their context.

From Search to Styling

Most e-commerce platforms rely on user-initiated search and browsing. Glance AI flips that model by offering what it calls “inspiration-led discovery.” You upload a selfie (or use an existing photo), and the app generates a hyper-realistic image of you wearing various AI-curated outfits.

This isn’t a basic filter overlay. Glance says it uses diffusion modeling and geometry processing to create visuals that account for body shape, skin tone, gender, and style. You can save the look, share it, or buy the pieces directly. The platform links each styled outfit to real products available from partner brands.

Built on Predictive Intelligence

Beyond the visuals, Glance AI is designed to anticipate what users might want before they ask for it. The platform’s AI architecture includes a commerce intelligence model, reportedly trained on two decades of retail and behavioral data. That model works behind the scenes to predict intent and serve suggestions that aim to feel timely and relevant, not random or generic.

It also includes a transaction agent—a layer that helps transition users from visualization to checkout with minimal friction. The goal appears to be more than just personalization; it’s a faster, more seamless buying process that aligns with the user’s mood and interests.

Not Just an App—An Ecosystem

While Glance AI is currently available as a mobile app on Android and iOS, the company is planning for broader reach. The technology is designed to plug into a wider network of devices and platforms—including phones, TVs, brand websites, and telecom services.

In other words, Glance sees this as more than an app. It wants to turn the smartphone lock screen, the TV in your living room, and even retail partner apps into touchpoints for AI-led shopping.

Early Signs from U.S. Trials

Before the global launch, Glance AI was trialed in the U.S., where the company says it drew over 1.5 million active users. Nearly half of them reportedly returned weekly, and more than 40% clicked through to shop or explore further. These are early signals, but they suggest that users are at least curious about an AI-curated, selfie-based shopping experience.

Privacy Still Matters

Given that Glance AI asks for user selfies and generates personalized content, privacy is a concern. The company says the platform is fully opt-in and that data privacy is built into the design. Users can choose how their content is used, and none of the personalized images are made public unless shared manually.

What's Next?

For now, Glance AI is focused on fashion, but the company says it plans to expand into beauty, accessories, and travel later this year. Whether users will trust AI to style their vacations the way they trust it to style their clothes remains to be seen—but the ambition is clear.
