Google Launches ‘Flow’: A New AI Filmmaking Tool That Puts Veo, Imagen, and Gemini to Work
Google is officially entering the AI moviemaking arena with a new creative tool called Flow, a platform that allows users to generate, edit, and direct AI-generated video scenes using a trio of its most advanced models: Veo, Imagen, and Gemini.
Announced at this year's I/O developer conference, Flow is positioned as a natural evolution of last year's VideoFX lab experiment-only this time, it's available as a structured product under Google's AI Pro and AI Ultra subscription plans in the U.S.

What sets Flow apart is its integration of Google's three flagship generative AI models into one filmmaking suite:
- Veo handles video creation, now upgraded to Veo 3, which supports native audio generation-think background sounds, environmental ambience, and even dialogue, all generated from a simple text prompt.
- Imagen powers still image creation, ideal for backdrops, props, or scene setups.
- Gemini steps in as the conversational engine, helping with prompt engineering and task breakdowns.
This tri-model approach means that users can either import their own assets or build entire visual sequences from scratch. The addition of SceneBuilder tools enables editing, shot extension, and flow direction within a scene. There's even camera control, giving users the ability to tweak angles, motion paths, and perspectives.
Flow TV: A Showcase of AI Creativity with Full Transparency
Alongside the main toolset, Google has also introduced Flow TV, a curated stream of video samples made using Flow and Veo. What's unique here is the inclusion of the exact prompts used to create each clip. It's a move toward creative transparency and inspiration, especially useful for users learning how to structure effective prompts.
This approach could foster a growing community around prompt-sharing, iterative creativity, and accessible moviemaking. Essentially, Flow TV is part gallery, part tutorial hub.
Access and Availability: A Gradual Rollout via Paid Plans
For now, Flow is only available in the U.S., but it's expected to expand to other regions, including India, in the coming months. Users can access Flow through two paid subscription tiers:
- Google AI Pro - ₹1,950/month: Includes up to 100 video generations per month and access to tools like Gemini, Imagen, and Flow.
- Google AI Ultra - ₹24,500/month: Offers unlimited generations, early access to advanced models like Veo 3, and priority access to experimental AI tools across Google's ecosystem.
Google has said that Flow will be coming to more countries soon, although no specific dates have been shared.
