Google One Lite Plan With 30GB Storage Rolling Out in India
Google is rolling out a new subscription tier called Google One Lite for its cloud storage service in India. This plan is more affordable than the Basic tier, which was previously the cheapest option. The Lite plan offers only cloud storage without any additional benefits.
To access the Google One Lite plan, users need to download and install the Google One app. On the Upgrade page, the Lite plan will appear at the top of the screen in both monthly and annual sections. The monthly subscription costs Rs. 59 for 30GB of storage, while the annual subscription is priced at Rs. 589.

Google One Lite Plan Details
The new Lite plan was spotted by Gadgets 360 staff members within the Google One app. However, it was not visible on all devices, suggesting that Google might be selectively rolling out this plan to some users. Some users have reported getting special deals for the first month of subscription. These discounts can reduce the price to as low as Rs. 15 a month for two months.
The new Lite plan offers an affordable entry point with its 30GB cloud storage at minimal cost. However, it does not include AI features exclusive to the AI Premium plan. The premium plan also offers 2TB of cloud storage and advanced AI capabilities through Gemini.
It appears that the rollout of this plan is happening gradually as it is currently available only to some users. This new addition aims to provide more flexibility and options for users needing extra space without committing to higher-tier plans. As always, Google's approach ensures that there are varied choices catering to different needs and budgets.
The introduction of this Lite version reflects Google's strategy to offer scalable solutions that cater specifically to regional markets like India where affordability plays a crucial role in user adoption. It also ensures that users can continue using essential services without interruption while providing an affordable solution for additional storage needs.
