Google Rolls Out Gemini AI-powered Q&A Feature for Gmail on Android

Google is rolling out a Q&A feature for Gmail on Android, powered by Gemini AI. This addition aims to enhance user productivity by providing various functionalities directly within the app. Users can now ask Gemini questions about their inbox or perform tasks like finding specific details in emails.

The Gmail Q&A feature offers capabilities similar to the side panel on the web version of Gmail. It allows users to view unread messages, find emails from a particular sender, or summarise emails related to a specific topic.

This new feature is currently available only to Google Workspace customers who have add-ons like Gemini Business, Enterprise, Education, and Education Premium. Additionally, Google One AI Premium subscribers can also use it.

The rollout may take up to 15 days for all eligible users to see the feature. However, this feature is not available on iOS devices. However, Google has confirmed that it will be rolled out for iPhone users soon.

Moreover, users need to enable smart features and personalisation in their settings. Once enabled, they can access Gemini through the black star icon at the top right of the app or via a "summarise this email" chip.

Google stated in a blog post "We are excited to help users supercharge their productivity with the help of Gemini in Gmail. Users now have even more capabilities from Gemini to help users get more done during their day at their desks and now, on the go,"
