Google's New And Compact Assistant Rolls Out To Older Android Phones
Google has started rolling out its, new and compact Assistant inspired by the Pixel 4 series, to older Android phones. The latest Google Assistant comes with an updated design. It only acquires the space as it needs, and hence the users won't look confused while seeking out for answers, using the Assistant.
The new Google Assistant features a shorter panel, unlike the Pixel 4's transparent look. The Assistant icon lies in the top-left corner followed by "Hi, how can I help?" The compact Assistant has some more features which don't comply with Pixel 4's. It has no continued conversation or screen context features. It will be used more as a background than a front and center oriented experience.
It works like an older Assistant, making the launching of lens, voice and the keyboard, easier. Just like the Assistant that we saw for previous devices, the new Assistant can be swiped up to access the updates feed. As of now, the latest Assistant is reaching out to the Pixel 3 series in the form of a beta version. Since the testing is under progress, it will take some time in reaching out to other devices.
To recall, the Pixel 4 smartphone launched with a 5.70-inch display with a resolution of 1080 x 2280 pixels. It is powered by the Snapdragon 855 SoC, paired with 6GB RAM and 64GB ROM options. It houses dual rear cameras and a single selfie snapper. And, it runs the latest Android 10 OS. A few connectivity aspects onboard the device are Bluetooth 5, Type-C, and NFC. The handset is equipped with a 2,800mAh battery along with fast charging support.
The handset is available in Clearly White, Just Black, and Oh So Orange colors. Lastly, its price in India starts from Rs. 84,990 for the given base variant.
