Google updates its Trusted Contacts app with new feature and adds iOS support
Google Trusted contact app will now have custom timeouts and Google Maps integration on Android. The app will also be available for iOS devices.
Google has updated its Trusted Contact app with some noteworthy new features and has also made the app available on iOS devices. The app that serves as a personal safety app for smartphone users will now allow users to customize the timeout of location requests to share their location with the trusted contacts.
The app has also been modified by adding integration with Google Maps location sharing. This will allow users to easily enable permanent location sharing with selected contacts and find them directly within Google Maps. Moreover, smartphone users will now be able to add new contacts using just their phone number, which was not possible with the previous version of the app.
The updated app also adds support for nine new languages taking the count to 25 worldwide languages including Nepali, Serbian, Urdu, Amharic, Greek, Persian, Bahasa, Macedonian, Burmese, etc.
All the above mentioned features will be available in version 1.5.
The Trusted Contact app from search engine giant can automatically share your status and location with your friends or loved ones. Google has described it as a personal safety app that opens a direct line of sharing between you and your loved ones.
Trusted Contacts app promises to help the users connect with the people they care about the most or at times when they need them the most. Especially, it could be of great help during the time of crisis or any emergency. The app is Google's answer to Facebook Safety check feature.
Notably, the app has also been made available to iOS users who can now install it on Apple devices from App store.
