HTC releases screen capture tool with new features: Available in Google Play Store
Once you update your HTC smartphone and take a screenshot, a new menu icon will pop up at the bottom of the display with options like Scroll, Partial, Edit, Share, and Save.
After releasing an update to its Edge Launcher, HTC has also rolled out a new update for its another app. Well, the company is now updating its screenshot tool which will now provide users with very useful features.
So if you are familiar with Samsung smartphones you could basically scroll down to take long screenshots. You could also further crop and take annotations with text and drawing. The new update adds the same features to the screenshot tool also known as HTC Screen capture tool.
The update now lets you not only capture screenshots from your smartphone, but the screenshots taken can be edited and you can further add text or drawings. Once you update your smartphone and take a screenshot, a new menu icon will pop up at the bottom of the display with options like Scroll, Partial, Edit, Share, and Save.
Talking about this options, the first one, Scroll will enable you to preview what you're capturing on your smartphone. A tiny window will appear at the bottom or your handset's screen. As mentioned above like in Samsung devices, as you keep scrolling down, you'll be able to capture additional content in a screenshot. You don't have to take multiple screenshots with this feature.
The Partial option allows you to easily crop the screenshot before saving it. As for the Edit option, on clicking it you will get icons with which you can add text or draw. "The text annotating is kind of a pain, as anything more than a couple of words winds up being too long to fit on the screen, and it doesn't seem to be able to handle something as advanced as line breaks," reports AndroidPolice.
The Draw tab comes with a lot of markup tools like marker, crayon, paintbrush, pen, and eraser, and a wide array of color and thickness options. Share option basically lets you share the image via messaging services or to social media accounts.
"With HTC Screen Capture tool, now you can take a continuous screenshot for your chats, work documents or social network posts. It's much easier to take multiple screenshots than having to press 2 keys at the same time with both hands. What's even better, the final result will be a smooth, continuous image," the company mentions in its product description page on Google Play Store.
