Instagram Lets Creators Track Likes by Reel Timestamp & Carousel Slide, Adds Follower Growth Insights

Instagram has introduced new features to assist creators in tracking audience growth metrics more effectively. The Meta-owned platform is now offering insights for likes on photo carousels and Reels, pinpointing the exact moment and slide when users liked a post. Additionally, post-level demographics will help creators understand which content resonates with their audience.

Instagram's Creators account detailed these updates in a recent post. One of the new features, Reel Like Insights, provides an interactive chart showing "When people liked your reel." This feature offers precise insights down to the second when someone liked a Reel. Creators can also access other metrics like likes, shares, saves, comments, and engaged accounts on the same page.

Enhanced Carousel Insights

The Carousel Like Insights feature functions similarly to Reel Like Insights but focuses on carousel posts. It reveals which slide users were viewing when they liked the post. A pie chart displays interactions from both followers and non-followers alongside other metrics. Below this chart, creators can see the most liked slides.

Post Level Demographics is another addition aimed at helping creators. Previously, Instagram only provided age, country, and gender insights for the entire account. Now, creators can view demographics for specific posts and Reels to better understand which content appeals to different audience segments.

Follower Growth Metrics

Instagram will also highlight content that has attracted the most followers to a creator's account. Within the Followers section of Insights, top-performing content such as posts and Reels that have been effective in converting viewers into followers will be displayed.

This section also allows creators to view follower details including follows, unfollows, and a growth chart showing changes in follower numbers over time.

Viewer Engagement Insights

The Viewers metric is set to replace the existing Accounts Reached metric soon. Announced last year, it will display total engagement on an account and identify what drives it based on content type insights.

These updates aim to provide creators with more detailed analytics to refine their content strategy effectively. By understanding audience preferences better through these insights, creators can tailor their posts to engage their followers more successfully.
