Jack Dorsey Just Built Two New Apps in a Week—And He Barely Had to Code Them

Jack Dorsey, best known as the co-founder of Twitter and the current CEO of Block, is back in the tech spotlight and this time for building and releasing two new apps in less than a week. No, this isn't a hackathon stunt or a startup demo. Dorsey's secret weapon? A powerful AI tool called Goose and a new approach to development dubbed "vibe coding."

In a matter of days, Dorsey launched:

• BitChat, a secure, peer-to-peer messaging app that works without an internet connection. It uses Bluetooth mesh networking and end-to-end encryption to offer private chats even in low-connectivity zones.
• Sun Day, a wellness app that helps users track UV exposure and estimate their vitamin D intake. It factors in location, skin tone, UV index, and clothing to suggest safe sun times and help users avoid sunburns or deficiency.

According to Forbes, both apps were built using Goose, an open-source AI agent developed by Block. Goose automates most of the software development pipeline, it can write and run code, debug errors, design interfaces, and even deploy apps. The tool is hosted on GitHub, where it's being described as a full-stack AI engineer that can build software from scratch with minimal human input.

This is where vibe coding comes in. Instead of manually writing every function, developers describe the app's intention, purpose, and feel, leaving the AI to handle the execution. As reported by Times of India, this method allows creators like Dorsey to focus on product vision rather than technical bottlenecks.
