MSRTC plans to launch mobile app, on-board food facility
In order to improve passenger amenities, Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) is planning to introduce a mobile application for bookings, on-board food facilities among others. Transport Minister Diwakar Raote said at present ticket bookings can be done online through the MSRTC website and details are provided through SMS. "Passengers can also do their bookings on mobile with help of an app.
Similarly, food packets can be give to the passengers at the start of journey to save time from halts for food and snacks," he said.

The minister said MSRTC depots can have only toilet facilities for passengers and there can be better maintenance of the depots.
After introducing push back seats in the state transport semi-luxury "Hirkani" buses, the department is mulling to introduce air conditioned coaches and mobile charging units as well.
Raote said his department has plans to improve the infrastructure and provide better facilities to commuters, adding, steps will be undertaken to ensure cleanliness in the buses.
