Native WhatsApp App for Mac now available for Download: Here’s how to Install it!

A new version of the WhatsApp app is now available for download on the Mac App Store. The latest version of the messaging app is available for macOS.

WhatsApp's new app for macOS has been completely rebuilt from scratch to natively runs on Mac computers. WhatsApp recently took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to confirm the introduction of the new version of the app.

How to Download and Install WhatsApp for Mac?

1. Open the Mac Store on your Mac PC.
2. Search or WhatsApp Messenger.
3. Once you find the app, click 'Get' and 'Install'.
4. Click 'Open' once the app is installed.

How to use WhatsApp on Mac?

1. Once you've installed the app, open it, and click Get Started.
2. You will then be directed to a QR Code that can be scanned through the WhatsApp app on your smartphone.
3. You can scan the QR Code by opening WhatsApp on your phone, clicking the Three Dot Menu, choosing Linked Devices, and then tap Link a Device.
4. Once you've scanned the code, WhatsApp will work as any other native app on Mac and will function like the iOS version.

WhatsApp for Mac will also retain all the functionalities of the messaging app on iOS. It will retain features like group calling with up to eight participants, receiving incoming notifications, audio group calling with up to 32 people, and more. The version of the app on Mac will also retain end-to-end encryption.

Additionally, being a native app, it will also consume less battery life. It is worth noting that users will still be able to access WhatsApp when the phone is not around as this Mac version is only a companion app. On the other, it will require to have a WhatsApp account set up on your smartphone.
