New WhatsApp feature allows users to share high quality images: Here’s how you use it
WhatsApp is getting an upgrade that will allow users to share HD photos through the messaging app. The feature, previously in beta testing, is now available to all users after updating the app.
While users could previously send photos through the Meta-owned messaging platform, their quality was significantly reduced. However, the new update will allow users to send high-quality images through WhatsApp.

How to send HD Photos on WhatsApp?
To access the new HD photo sharing feature on WhatsApp, users need to update their app to the latest release. After updating, a new 'HD' button will appear at the top of the photo sharing screen.
When you tap on the 'HD' button, a pop-up window will appear allowing you to select the photo quality. By default, Standard Quality is selected for fast and reliable sharing. However, you can choose HD quality instead to improve the quality.
Identifying HD Photos
After sending an HD photo, recipients will see an 'HD' label in the bottom left corner of the image. This alerts them that a higher quality image has been shared with them.
All photos sent via WhatsApp's HD feature are protected by end-to-end encryption. If recipients have low bandwidth connectivity, they can choose whether to keep or upgrade received photos on a per-photo basis.
The HD photo sharing feature will be rolled out to WhatsApp users globally over the next few weeks. WhatsApp is also planning to introduce support for HD videos soon.
