Phone Link App For iPhone Rolling Out To Windows 11: Is It Better Than The One For Android Smartphones?

|

The Phone Link for iOS is now available to Windows 11 users. Microsoft introduced the feature to Windows Insider Program users earlier this year, and now its stable version is being sent out to all Windows 11 computers.

The new Phone Link app is intended to dissolve the barrier between an iPhone device running the iOS operating system and Windows 11 computer. It will help users connect with friends, family, and acquittances, but is the version compliant with iOS as good as the variant meant to connect Android smartphones with Windows 11?

The Phone Link for iOS app is now available for all Windows 11 users worldwide. In an official blog post, Microsoft announced that the Phone Link for iOS on Windows 11 is rolling out to global users in over 85 markets in 39 languages.

The new app was to be released later this year. However, Microsoft moved up the launch because it received positive feedback from Windows Insider Program members. The Windows OS maker released the app preview in March.

Phone Link for iOS should gradually reach all Windows 11 users by mid-May, indicated Microsoft. The Phone Link for Android has been available to Windows 11 users for several months now.

• iPhone running iOS 14 or above.
• A laptop or desktop running Windows 11.
• The latest version of the Phone Link app.
• Working Bluetooth connection.

Is Phone Link For iOS App For Windows 11 As Good As The One For Android Smartphones?

The Phone Link For iOS app allows users to pick up calls or check messages and respond right from their Windows 11 PC. In other words, iPhone owners will be able to make and receive calls, send messages via iMessage, and access contacts along with the ability to view phone notifications on any connected Windows 11 laptops.

No matter the physical distance between an iPhone or a synced Windows 11 device, users will be able to read all the latest notifications and even take calls on their Windows PC, as long as there's supporting hardware.

The Phone Link For iOS app is currently not available for iPadOS or macOS. Moreover, Microsoft noted that the messaging feature is currently restricted by iOS, which means that features such as media sharing and group messaging are not supported.
