Samsung Improves Photo Editing With New Magnetic Lasso Feature in Object Eraser

Samsung recently introduced a new feature called Magnetic Lasso to its Object Eraser tool within the Samsung Photo Editor app. This update (version 3.4.21.41) aims to improve the user experience of removing unwanted objects from photos on Samsung devices running One UI 6.1.

Addressing Limitations of Previous Object Eraser Previously, the Object Eraser offered two primary options for object removal:

• Tap-to-Select: This method involved automatically selecting an object by tapping on it. However, it often resulted in inaccurate selections, grabbing unwanted areas along with the intended object.
• Manual Outlining: Users could manually draw an outline around the object they wished to remove. While offering more control, this method was challenging to perform accurately on a smartphone screen, especially with intricate and small objects.

Magnetic Lasso Improves Precision The Magnetic Lasso addresses these issues by allowing users to draw a loose outline around the object they want to remove. The tool then intelligently refines the selection to precisely follow the object's edges, minimizing user effort and improving accuracy. SamMobile suggests this feature leads to significantly better results, especially on the Galaxy S23.

How to Access Magnetic Lasso Accessing the Magnetic Lasso is a straightforward process:

1. Open the desired image within the Gallery app.
2. Navigate to the Edit menu.
3. Select "Tools" from the Edit menu options.
4. Choose "Object Eraser" from the available tools.

The Magnetic Lasso will be enabled by default, indicated by a toggle switch in the top right corner of the screen. Users can keep it enabled for precise object removal or disable it if they prefer the previous methods.

While the Magnetic Lasso is currently available through APKMirror, it's expected to be rolled out officially through the Galaxy Store soon, making this powerful editing tool readily accessible to all compatible Samsung device users.
