Swiggy, a leading Indian food delivery and quick commerce platform, has introduced a privacy-focused feature called Incognito Mode. This industry-first functionality allows users to place orders for food and groceries without them appearing in their order history.

Shared accounts are a common reality, and Swiggy acknowledges that not everyone wants every order visible to family, friends, or roommates. Incognito Mode addresses this need by providing a way to order surprise birthday cakes, anniversary gifts, or personal wellness products without leaving a trace. This caters to both surprise-planning and situations where users prefer more privacy for their purchases.

Simple and Discreet Experience

Swiggy's CEO of Food Marketplace, Rohit Kapoor, emphasizes that Incognito Mode is designed to empower user privacy. "Whether you're ordering a meal or making a quick purchase, Incognito Mode ensures your choices remain private," he states. The feature is currently available to a limited user base (10%) but will be rolled out to everyone in the coming days.

Activating Incognito Mode is Easy

Using Incognito Mode is straightforward. Simply activate a toggle switch within your cart while placing an order. After confirmation, the order proceeds as usual, but it disappears from your history three hours after delivery. This short window allows users to address any post-delivery concerns before the purchase becomes completely hidden.

Currently, the feature is available to 10% of Swiggy's user base, with plans for a broader rollout in the coming days.

Swiggy's Focus on User Convenience

Incognito Mode is just one of several recent initiatives by Swiggy aimed at improving user experience. These include features like Group Ordering, Eatlists (personalized lists for future orders), Explore Mode (restaurant discovery), Reordering (faster repeat purchases), and Similar Carts (recommendations based on past choices).
