Telegram's Latest Update Introduces Guest AI Bots, Custom AI Styles, Smarter Sticker Search, and More

Telegram has released a major update focused on AI tools, automation features, moderation controls, and chat customization. The update introduces Guest AI Bots, Bot-to-Bot Communication, Chat Automation for profiles, Custom AI Styles, expanded sticker and emoji search, and several new poll management tools.

According to Telegram, the release also includes more than 200 smaller improvements across its apps.

Guest AI Bots Can Now Be Mentioned Inside Chats

One of the main additions is Guest AI Bots. Telegram users can now mention AI bots directly inside private or group chats without adding those bots as members of the conversation.

Users can tag a bot’s username to ask questions, generate text, summarize information, or perform other AI-related tasks within the chat itself.

Telegram says these bots only get access to the tagged message and direct replies connected to it. The company positions this as a way to maintain more controlled access to conversations.

Telegram Introduces Bot-to-Bot Communication

The update also enables bots to communicate directly with other bots inside Telegram.

This feature is aimed more at developers and automation workflows than regular users. It could allow interconnected AI systems and automated tools to operate within Telegram’s ecosystem without constant user interaction.

Telegram has not detailed specific use cases yet, but the feature appears targeted at developers building AI-based utilities and services on the platform.

Chat Automation Comes to User Profiles

Telegram users can now connect bots directly to their profiles and allow them to automatically respond to messages on their behalf.

The platform says users can customize how these automated replies work by limiting which chats bots can access. For example, users can exclude contacts or restrict automation to new conversations only.

These controls are available through the Chat Automation section in settings.

Custom AI Styles Add Writing Presets

Another addition is Custom AI Styles. The feature lets users create writing styles inside Telegram’s text editor using prompts.

Telegram says these styles can be used for standardized messaging, themed community interactions, or personalized writing formats. Styles can also be shared through dedicated links so others can add them to their own editor.

Expanded Sticker Search and New Poll Controls

Telegram is also expanding its sticker and emoji search functionality. Users can now search across more than 100 million stickers and emoji using keywords in 36 languages directly from the sticker panel.

The company says the feature is powered by AI models running on Telegram’s Cocoon Network.

Polls in groups and channels are getting additional controls as well. Once a poll crosses 100 votes, admins can access interactive statistics showing how voting patterns changed over time.

Channel admins can also limit poll participation to subscribers or users from specific countries.

Silent Scheduled Messages and Better Moderation Tools

Telegram has added silent scheduled messages, allowing users to send scheduled texts without triggering notifications for recipients.

The update also introduces new moderation tools for group admins. Administrators can now remove reactions from specific users or clear all reactions from an individual member inside a group or channel.
