Telegram App for Android Adopts Liquid Glass Design in Latest Update
Telegram has released a major update that Telegram describes as the biggest interface change for Android. The update also introduces a crafting system for collectible gifts, new tools for bots, and changes to group ownership. iOS and iPad users receive visual tweaks and a new keyboard shortcut.
The Android app now features a redesigned interface with a new bottom bar. Users can switch between chats, settings, profile and other sections with one tap. Navigation and search are designed to feel quicker and simpler. Developers have also rebuilt interface code to improve efficiency and responsiveness across different Android devices.

Telegram Update: Interface Controls and iOS Visuals
Android users can manage interface effects under Settings > Power Saving. These options help reduce visual effects, improve performance and extend battery life. On iOS, developers have added more Liquid Glass elements. Changes include a redesigned media viewer, new preview panels for sticker and emoji packs, and updated context menus in user profiles and message selection.
For iPad users, the Telegram update adds a new keyboard option. Messages can now be sent with the shortcut ⌘+Enter, which may help people who use external keyboards. These platform updates aim to keep basic actions, such as browsing media or sending replies, quick and predictable for regular users.

Telegram Update: Gift Crafting and Rarities
Collectible gifts have grown since launch, with Telegram users minting millions of items from more than 100 collections. The new crafting system lets people combine existing gifts to create higher rarity versions. Possible outcomes include Uncommon, Rare, Epic or Legendary gifts, each presented with detailed artwork and special visual effects.
| Rarity Level | Description |
|---|---|
| Uncommon | First upgraded tier crafted from existing gifts. |
| Rare | Higher tier with more distinct artwork and effects. |
| Epic | Advanced tier offering more elaborate visual details. |
| Legendary | Top tier with the most elaborate presentation. |
Telegram Crafting Chances and Gift Marketplace
The crafting interface accepts up to four collectible gifts at once. Each added gift raises the overall chance of producing a higher rarity item. Using several gifts that share attributes also increases the likelihood that those attributes will appear in the crafted result. Collectible gifts can be bought and sold on the Gift Marketplace in Telegram.
Telegram Group Owners and Coloured Bot Buttons
Group ownership rules have changed for Telegram communities. If a group owner leaves a chat, ownership is now transferred automatically to an admin after one week. Owners see a confirmation window when leaving, where a new owner can be chosen immediately. Owners of groups and channels may also transfer ownership to another member at any time without leaving.

Bot developers gain more interface options in this Telegram update. Buttons in bots can now include colours and emoji. These visual changes can help guide users towards key actions or make interfaces easier to understand. Telegram directs developers to a dedicated Bot API changelog for complete technical details about the latest bot features.
The company closes this update with a clear message about future plans: "That's all for this update, we'll be back soon after we finish crafting the next set of legendary features." The features were released on 9 February 2026, with Telegram Team credited as responsible for these changes across Android, iOS and bots.
