Telegram Adds Live Stories, Gift Auctions and Smarter Reminders in New Update
Telegram is pushing out a new update that brings a mix of creator tools, quality-of-life upgrades and a fresh spin on digital collectibles. The headline change is Live Stories, which lets anyone stream directly inside a Telegram Story. Alongside that, the app is adding repeating scheduled messages and an auction system for limited-edition gifts.

Live Stories Arrive for Everyone
Telegram is letting users go live straight from Stories, which feels like a natural step now that Stories are everywhere in the app. Once the stream starts, viewers can chat in real time, just like they would during a group video session. If someone wants their message to stand out, they can highlight or pin it using Telegram Stars, the platform’s in-app currency.

A small Star counter sits in the corner of the stream, showing how much support a creator has received. Viewers can tap the icon at any point to send more Stars.
Live Stories respect the same privacy settings as regular stories, so you can decide whether you want to stream to everyone, just your contacts, close friends or a custom list.
Tools for Creators
Creators who prefer third-party software aren’t left out. Live Stories support RTMP keys, which means apps like OBS or XSplit can be plugged in without any special setup.
There are also controls to manage comments, adjust pricing for highlighted messages and assign stream moderators. Admins need the “Manage Video Chats / Live Streams” permission to handle things mid-broadcast.
Repeating Scheduled Messages
Telegram’s scheduled messages are getting a simple but genuinely useful upgrade: repetition. You can now set a message or reminder to repeat daily, weekly or even twice a month.

It’s the kind of feature that quietly makes the app easier to use, especially for people juggling projects, routines or group reminders. To set one up, you long-press the Send arrow, pick “Schedule,” then choose “Repeat.”
Gift Auctions for Collectors
Telegram’s digital gifts have grown into a small collectibles ecosystem, but limited drops would sometimes sell out instantly. To make things fairer, Telegram is moving new releases to an auction-style system.
Users bid with Stars across multiple rounds. Higher bids get earlier serial numbers, starting from #1. When a round ends, the top bidders receive their gifts automatically, while lower bids roll into the next round. Anything left over after the final round is refunded.
The auctions also get a dedicated banner and a t.me/auction link for easier participation.
Updated Interfaces on iOS and Android
Telegram is also polishing the UI a bit. iOS gets more of the app’s Liquid Glass visuals, including redesigned profiles and a refreshed Settings and attachment menu. Android gets a cleaner input bar with subtle blur effects that show up as you scroll.
