Truecaller Achieves Over Three Million Paid Subscribers, One Million of Which Joined on iOS in May Alone

Truecaller, a caller ID and call-blocking app, has announced new milestones for its paid services in 2025. By May 17, the global count of Truecaller's paid subscribers surpassed 3 million. On May 27, the company reported over 1 million paid users on iOS. This marks significant growth compared to December 31, 2024, when there were 2.72 million total paid subscribers, including 820,000 on iOS.

By March 31, 2025, Truecaller's total paid subscriber base had increased to 2.86 million, with iOS users reaching 860,000. This data highlights a noticeable rise in iOS subscribers during the first quarter of the year. The increase follows recent updates to Truecaller's iOS app that introduced advanced AI features.

Subscription Plans and Features

In India, Truecaller offers several subscription plans through its app: Truecaller Premium at Rs. 99 per month or Rs. 899 annually; Truecaller Family allows sharing with up to four additional users at Rs. 249 monthly or Rs. 1,490 yearly; and Truecaller Gold is available for Rs. 5,000 annually.

Rishit Jhunjhunwala, CEO of Truecaller, expressed satisfaction with the growing number of premium users: "I am glad to see that an increasing number of users recognize the benefits of upgrading to premium." He noted enhancements in premium offerings over recent years and highlighted features like AI-Assistant and improved spam blocking.

Focus on iOS Optimization

Since January, premium iOS users have enjoyed the Live Caller ID feature. The company's focus on optimizing its iOS product and converting users has yielded promising results. The family plan also saw positive growth by allowing up to four family members under a discounted package.

Fredrik Kjell, COO of Truecaller, commented on these achievements: "We plan to keep enhancing our subscription services by introducing improved features and offering more tools to enrich our users' communication experience." He emphasized that while reaching these milestones is positive, their goals extend beyond just having over 3 million subscribers.

The company aims to transition from being a basic utility app to a comprehensive identity platform for mobile communications. This shift is intended to enhance how users manage calls and contacts effectively. Increasing the subscriber base significantly boosts revenue since premium users contribute much higher revenue per user than non-paying ones.
