TrueCaller Assistant Launched: Android Users in India Can Now Try This New AI Tool

Truecaller had announced TrueCaller Assistant back in September 2022. It was made available in a few select countries, which included the US and Australia. Now, the service is finally here in India.

The key thing to note is that this paid service is only available for Android users at present. The aim of this feature is to further enable users to only pick relevant calls, with the help of AI and NLP. Let's take a closer look at what this is and how it can help you.

TrueCaller Assistant: How it Works

TrueCaller Assistant is an AI-powered call-screening solution and it operates by utilizing cloud telephony and machine learning to handle your incoming calls.

It interacts with incoming callers using natural language processing and offers real-time transcriptions of their speech. This feature thus, assists users in making informed decisions about whether to answer the call or classify it as spam.

The main aim is to enable users to only answer calls that they deem relevant or useful. Saving time, and getting that extra level of spam protection are their primary goals.

The company calls it the "smartest call screening available anywhere."

The assistant not only answers the call, but also can ask questions for users to detect spam and tell users if the call is worth answering.

When it comes to languages, the feature is available in English, Hindi, and "Hinglish". According to reports, the company is not planning on adding other languages to this list.

Users can try TrueCaller Assistant in India for free for 14 days.

Post the trial period, users can subscribe to the TrueCaller Premium Assistant plan that starts from INR149 ($1.8/€1.6) per month. Point to note is that as a part of a limited-time promotional deal, right now one can get it for INR99 ($1.2/€1) per month.

Another key thing to remember is that this premium service, TrueCaller Assistant, is currently only available for Android users. The company has said that iOS users will have to wait a little longer to avail the service. They haven't yet revealed any timeline for this yet.
