Truecaller Secure Calls Feature Launched in India To Verify Business Identities And Reduce Call Spoofing

Truecaller has introduced a feature called Secure Calls to help businesses verify their identity when contacting customers. This tool, which acts as both a verification and authentication badge, aims to reduce call spoofing. The company's proprietary technology authenticates the business's identity on the backend, while the receiver sees a Secure Calls badge in Truecaller's call ID pop-up.

The Stockholm-based app detailed this new feature in a press release. It expands on Truecaller's Verified Business platform, which displays verified caller IDs for legitimate businesses. Secure Calls now aims to verify every outgoing call linked to a verified business. This is particularly beneficial for companies with numerous vendors who frequently contact customers.

Truecaller Expands Global Reach with Secure Calls

Secure Calls is an authentication feature that informs users of an incoming call from a legitimate business. Currently, it is available only to Truecaller For Business subscribers. When calls are made by these business accounts, Truecaller verifies the caller's authenticity to prevent impersonation.

Upon confirming legitimacy, receivers will see a golden lock icon with "Secure Call" text on the Truecaller ID pop-up. This assures individuals that the call is from a business and not a scammer. Fredrik Kjell, Chief Operating Officer at Truecaller, stated, "Secure Calls now provides call-by-call assurance through an automated signing process."

Truecaller's Global Expansion and New Features

The company has already partnered with NoBroker, a Bengaluru-based prop-tech startup, for its Secure Calls service. The feature is available globally to businesses. Additionally, Truecaller has surpassed 3 million paying subscribers worldwide.

Truecaller continues to innovate by introducing AI-powered Message IDs for filtering messages and supporting real-time caller ID and spam call blocking on iPhones. These enhancements aim to improve user experience and security across various platforms.
