Viber is now available on Apple Watch. It includes additional feature updates like a ‘like' in group chats, character count increase to 7000 characters and a shareable Public Chat content
Viber, one of the world's leading messaging apps with more than 606 million users worldwide, has released its latest update for Android (v5.6) and iOS (v5.6.1), which includes support for the Apple Watch and exclusive stickers for Apple Watch users.
"It's important to us that our users can communicate through Viber in a way that is most convenient for them at any given time, and Apple Watch is another extension of this," said Ofir Eyal, Viber's head of product. "We always strive to provide our users with the best possible user experience and offering support for Apple Watch was critical to ensuring we continue to do so."
Viber has created a dedicated sticker pack exclusively available for wristwatch device.
Viber users will also be able to access their full conversation list and quickly read and reply to messages through the watch. A range of available preset messages include, ‘On my way!', ‘Sorry, can't talk' and ‘Sounds good'. Users can additionally create their own messages to use when replying.
A improved functionality of the Viber app for Apple Watch is the Public Chat Engagement. With more than 1500 Public Chat partners, it is easier for users to engage and share exclusive content on the platform. The latest update changes the way the content is shared in either a one-to-one or group chat. When a user shares Public Chat content with another user or in a group, the recipient will see more information about the Public Chat where the content is from, along with a link to see the Public Chat itself.
The conversations on the Apple Watch will be synced across all supported Viber devices, allowing an easy and seamless experience for the user.
