WhatsApp Introduces AI Chatbot With a New Shortcut in Latest Beta Release
WhatsApp is reportedly gearing up to introduce an AI chatbot feature on its instant messaging platform. The recent beta version of the app includes a dedicated button strategically placed above the 'New Chat' icon in the Chats tab, providing users with quick access to AI-powered conversations.
Meta AI powers the AI chatbot, which was first introduced by Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, WhatsApp's parent company. The feature was initially tested with a small group of users in the United States, and it aims to streamline interactions and boost efficiency for users. The beta release in September included the AI chatbot, but it was hidden within the contact list, making it difficult to find and start conversations.

Optimizing User Experience
To address this issue and optimize user experience, the WhatsApp beta for Android version 2.23.24.26 now incorporates a small button on the home screen, facilitating quick access to the chatbot. Positioned directly above the 'New Chat' button, the white square with a multicolored ring swiftly launches the Meta AI chatbot.

Availability
The AI chatbot feature is present in the WhatsApp beta, but it is not certain if it will be included in the global release of the same version. The specific timeline for broader availability is not yet known.
"Protect IP Address in Calls" Feature
In a recent blog post, WhatsApp revealed a privacy concern with its calling feature. To achieve faster data transfers and better audio quality, the feature uses peer-to-peer connections, which require users to share their IP addresses during calls.
To mitigate this vulnerability, WhatsApp has implemented the 'Protect IP Address in Calls' privacy feature. This option redirects individual calls through a server, keeping users' IP addresses hidden from other participants. It's worth noting that group calls have consistently employed this server-based relay, and now individual calls do the same.
