WhatsApp’s Multi-Account Support Is Finally Coming to iPhones: Here’s How It Works

Managing multiple WhatsApp accounts on a single device might soon be just as easy for iPhone users as it is for Android users. WhatsApp introduced multi-account support for Android in October 2023, letting users log into two accounts on the same phone without needing workarounds like app cloning or the WhatsApp Business app. Now, it looks like this handy feature is making its way to iOS.

WhatsApp’s Multi-Account Support Is Finally Coming to iPhones

WhatsApp Begins Testing Multi-Account Support for iPhones

According to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is currently testing the multi-account feature for iOS in its beta version 25.2.10.70, available through the TestFlight app. While the feature isn't ready for beta users just yet, the testing phase is a clear indication that it's in development. Once fully rolled out, iPhone users will be able to switch between two accounts seamlessly, bringing the same convenience Android users have been enjoying for months.

How the Multi-Account Feature Works

When the feature goes live, users will be able to add and manage multiple WhatsApp accounts directly through the app's settings. There will be two ways to set up an additional account:

  • Start Fresh: Set up a brand-new account on the same device.
  • Link an Existing Account: Use a QR code to link another account, just like pairing a companion device.

Each account will function independently within the app. Notifications, chats, and settings for one account won't interfere with the other, keeping everything organized.

This update will be especially useful for those with dual SIM iPhones. Instead of dedicating one SIM to the main WhatsApp app and the other to WhatsApp Business, users will soon be able to manage both numbers in one place.

Why This Matters for iPhone Users

Currently, iPhone users looking to manage two WhatsApp accounts have to resort to less-than-ideal solutions, like using the WhatsApp Business app, even if the second account isn't tied to a business. With this update, those workarounds will no longer be necessary. Whether you're balancing a personal and work number or just managing multiple profiles, this feature will make life much easier.

The flexibility of being able to toggle between accounts with just a few taps also ensures that users won't need multiple devices or parallel apps, simplifying how they stay connected across different contexts.

When Will It Be Available?

There's no official timeline yet for when this feature will roll out globally to iOS users. For now, it's being tested, and as with any new feature, it might take a few months to refine and launch.
