WhatsApp New Features Roundup: Easier Storage Cleanup, Dual Accounts On iPhone, AI Editing Tools, and More
WhatsApp is rolling out a set of updates that focus on things people deal with every day, like storage, switching phones, and managing multiple accounts.

None of these feel drastic on their own, but together they smooth out a lot of small frustrations that build up over time.
Clear Files Without Losing Chats
If your chats are packed with old videos, forwarded photos, or random files, there’s now a better way to deal with that.
You can open any chat, go into the chat info section, and use “Manage Storage” to find large files and delete them directly. The key difference here is control. You don’t have to delete the entire conversation just to free up space.
There’s also an option to clear only media while keeping the chat history intact.
Moving Chats Between iPhone And Android
WhatsApp is expanding its chat transfer feature to support moving chats between iOS and Android.
Your conversations, along with photos and videos, can be transferred in a few steps. For anyone switching platforms, this removes a step that used to feel messy or unreliable.
Two Accounts On One iPhone
iPhone users can now log into two WhatsApp accounts on the same device.
This has already been available on Android, and it’s now making its way to iOS. It’s useful if you keep separate numbers for work and personal use.
WhatsApp says you’ll be able to identify the active account by checking the profile picture shown in the bottom tab.
Stickers And AI Tools Inside Chats
There are also a few smaller updates that change how chats feel in day-to-day use.
Stickers will now be suggested as you type emojis, making it quicker to switch from a simple emoji to something more expressive.
On the AI side, WhatsApp is adding photo editing tools powered by Meta AI. You can make quick changes to images before sending them, like adjusting the background or removing something in the frame. These features may not be available to everyone yet.

The Writing Help feature has also been updated to suggest replies based on the conversation, while WhatsApp says chats remain private.
Rolling Out Gradually
These features are currently rolling out and should reach more users over time.
