Whatsapp Reaches Milestone! Now Has 1 Billion Monthly Users Globally

    Instant messaging app, Whatsapp has reached the Billions of active users as of January 2016, making it the globally popular messaging application till now. According to the report, India alone has more than 100 million active users.

    WhatsApp's founder and CEO Jan Koum announced this milestone via a Facebook post saying, "One billion users. Couldn't be more proud of our small team doing so much in just seven years."

    Koum also shared a chart saying that one billion users are sending 42 billions messages per day. Moreover, the company also says users are sharing 1.6 billion photos every day, and also sharing around 250 million videos on a daily basis.

    Previously, Whatsapp was founded by Brian Acton and Jan Koum, who were former employees of Yahoo! Further, the Whatsapp was acquired by Facebook on February 2014 for $13.9 billion.
