WhatsApp Rolls Out @All Mentions, Smarter Polls, New Group Creation Features: Everything You Need to Know

WhatsApp has started rolling out a new set of features aimed at improving the group chat experience. The latest update introduces @all mentions, enhanced polls, and a simpler way to create subgroups, giving users and administrators more control over conversations.

WhatsApp Introduces @All Mentions

One of the biggest additions is the @all mention feature, which allows users to notify every member in a group with a single tag. According to WhatsApp, the feature is designed for important announcements such as schedule changes, deadlines, or urgent updates.

To reduce spam, only group admins can use the @all mention in groups with more than 32 members.

Easier Group Creation

WhatsApp has also simplified the process of creating subgroups. Users can now start a new group directly from an existing group chat without manually selecting participants again.

The feature is intended to help users organize discussions for specific events or topics while keeping the main group conversation uncluttered.

Smarter Polls

The platform has also expanded the functionality of polls with several new features.

Users can now:

• Set automatic end times for polls
• Hide voter identities for greater privacy
• Edit poll questions within 15 minutes of posting to correct mistakes

These additions offer greater flexibility for users managing group decisions and discussions.

Gradual Global Rollout

WhatsApp says the new group management features are rolling out globally in phases. Users will also have the option to manage or mute these new notifications through the app's settings.
