WhatsApp Rolls Out First Update of 2025: Camera Effects, Quicker Reactions, Selfie Stickers, and More
WhatsApp has introduced its first update of 2025, bringing a host of new features. Users can now share sticker packs with friends, create stickers from selfies, and use camera effects. Additionally, there's a quick reaction feature for messages. These updates are available on both Android and iOS platforms.
Camera effects
WhatsApp first launched camera effects for video calls last year. The instant messaging app will now allow you to use the 30 backgrounds, filters and effects when you send a video or photo in your chats.

Selfie Stickers
We already can create stickers using images on WhatsApp. Now, the messaging app will let you create new stickers by using the phone's camera. So, you can take a photo and turn it into a sticker directly on the app.
For that, tap on the Stickers > Create and you'll see the camera option to take a selfie and create the sticker. It's worth noting that this feature is only available on Android at this moment, while it is confirmed to be rolled out for iOS users soon.
Share a sticker pack
You can now share your favourite sticker pack with your bestie. For that, open the chat > go to the sticker pack > tap on the preferred pack. Then click on the 'Share' button placed in the top right corner to share it.
Quicker reactions
Now you don't need to long press on a message to react, just double-tap on a message and quickly scroll through your most-used reactions.
Moreover, the Meta-owned messaging app is reportedly working on a new feature that could allow users to create and interact with personalized AI chatbots directly within the app. This feature was spotted in the beta version 2.25.1.26 for Android. Read our previous story to know in detail.
