WhatsApp Schedule Message Feature Rolling Out to iPhone Users Soon
WhatsApp is preparing a schedule message feature similar to Google Messages, giving users timed control over chats. Testers have spotted the option in a recent iOS beta update. Alongside this, WhatsApp is also expanding tools such as Group Message History, which helps new members catch up on earlier conversations more easily.
The upcoming schedule message feature is designed for routine communication, like birthday wishes, meeting reminders, or status updates. Users will be able to plan messages in advance, then let WhatsApp send them automatically. This could help people avoid missing greetings, work notices, or bill reminders that need to go at precise moments.

WhatsApp Schedule Message Feature in the Works
According to WABetaInfo, the schedule message feature appears in WhatsApp for iOS beta version 26.7.10.72 distributed through TestFlight. The report notes that the tool resembles options already present in some other messaging apps. WhatsApp is still testing the feature, and WABetaInfo has not mentioned any rollout dates for regular users.
Within the beta interface, users can compose a message as usual, then set a delivery date and time. A dedicated section in the chat info screen lets the sender review all pending scheduled posts. Users can cancel any scheduled message before sending, and WhatsApp will not alert the recipient about that deletion.
Group Message History
The schedule message feature is expected to support both one-to-one chats and group conversations. This means group admins or members could plan announcements, event details, or work updates. The WABetaInfo report explains: “With WhatsApp supporting scheduled messages, users will have more control over when their communications are sent. Users won't have to remember when sending important messages at specific times,” adds the report.
Recently, WhatsApp also introduced the Group Message History feature for group chats. Admins and members can now share a selected set of recent messages with newcomers. They can forward between 25 and 100 earlier messages, so new participants understand the context without scrolling through the full archive or relying on screenshots.
| Feature | Platform / Scope | Key details |
|---|---|---|
| Schedule message feature | WhatsApp for iOS beta 26.7.10.72 | Lets users set date and time, manage and delete scheduled messages. |
| Group Message History | WhatsApp group chats | Allows sharing 25–100 past messages with new members, with end-to-end encryption. |
The Group Message History feature keeps content end-to-end encrypted, consistent with WhatsApp’s wider security approach. New members receive enough earlier messages to understand key points without being overwhelmed. Together with the schedule message feature in testing, these tools show WhatsApp focusing on message timing, context, and convenience for everyday users.
