WhatsApp Starts Rolling Out Multi-Account Feature for iOS Users

WhatsApp is reportedly rolling out a new feature on iOS allowing users to manage up to two accounts in the app. This update facilitates the separation of personal and work profiles, ensuring independent chat histories, settings, and notifications for each account.

The new feature is available in the WhatsApp beta for iOS 25.34.10.72 update. It allows users to add a second account through the settings page. This can be done by connecting an existing WhatsApp account, adding a new number, or using a QR code to link a companion account for automatic syncing.

Each account maintains its own chat history, backups, notifications, privacy settings, and media configurations. This ensures that the settings of one account do not affect the other. Notifications are designed to show clearly which account has received a message, reducing confusion when managing multiple profiles.

Switching between accounts is straightforward. Users can use the Account List, perform a long press on the Settings tab, or double tap to cycle through profiles. App Lock remains compatible, requiring Face ID, Touch ID, or a passcode for accessing a protected account, enhancing security.

Removing an account is also straightforward through the Account section. The app remembers previously used numbers, simplifying the process of signing back in with the Add Account option. This feature is not available for all beta testers and will be rolled out gradually to to all users, ensuring a seamless transition.
